More Entangled Seals
Unfortunately, when we are in the field, we see a lot of seals entangled like this. These are some samples of the large amount of this sort of footage that we have.

Lucky Seal
Seal found entangled with a piece of rope carelessly left in the sea by humans. This one was lucky, as we found it and cut it free. For most entangled seals however the story does not end so happily..

Another fur seal with a “collar of death”.

Yet another less than happy seal being strangled by human carelessness.
Fibreglass Packing Tape
Fibreglass packing tape (the same type that wraps cardboard boxes) is widely thrown overboard by careless fishing traulers. Seals love to play with this dealy “toy” in the water, until it wraps around their neck and eventually makes for a long excruciating death.
Green Rope
This male again with a collar of green rope would have been sure to die if it were not the rescue efforts of the marine biologists.
