Seal Gives Birth to Pup (No. 1)
Rare vision of the moment of a fur seal entering the world.
Newborn Pup Moves
The pup takes its first breath, and its first movement in its new world.
Motherly Protection
The mother seal pulls the pup from danger (hungry seagulls) and shows her first instinct – to protect her newborn.
Seal Gives Birth to Pup (No. 2)
A second pup being delivered into existance. Notice the umbilical cord still attched.
Crow vs Mother
No sooner has the pup come out of the mother, crows appear and try to prey on the young seals. All that can save the pup is its mothers diligent fending off of the birds.
Rest for Mother
The female seal finally gets rid of the crows and succeeds in getting some rest.
