Fighting Seals
Seals, like other animals, tend to fight for dominance. However, this is rarely caught on film. The following is a sequence of footage that shows fur seal males fighting.

The Preliminary Fight
These two seals start to show that they have a quest for dominance by taking part in a preliminary bout a few minutes before they start fighting for keeps.
Tough Guy
This large male pronounces his dominance with a relaxed yawn before the first fight.
The Challenge
The two seals out of self-preservation challenge each other before fighting by rearing their huge bodies up against one another.
The Fight Begins
The challenging did not resolve the quest between these large males, and the fight begins.
A Sore Head
Theses fights take their toll on the participants, as can be seen from the wounds on this seal.
Flipper Wound
A large gash has opened on the flipper of the same seal.
Lazy Threat
The seals are weakening, but while they try to rest in between bouts, they continue to threaten each other with shows of confidence.
The Fight Ends
With one last bout, finally the struggle ends and a winner is decided.
The Aftermath
A Crow swoops on the pieces of flesh left behind. The severity of such fights is demonstrated by the large pieces torn off both seals.
Victorious Male Seal
The looser has fled, and the winner basks in the sun (despite having incurred severe wounds himself).
